    Senior-level role with commercial B2B experience in wholesale telecoms

    We are a specialist software and service provider operating globally in the wholesale telecoms B2B area, and head-quartered in Europe. We currently have an exciting opportunity based in Oman, working with a global leading telecoms client delivering next generation services in the 5G space. This role will require an energetic and experienced senior manager to manage our client’s new interconnect billing team and activities. This contract is initially for 12 months. The candidate will need to be available to work on-site in Oman at our client’s premises. Candidates from outside the Middle East with the relevant industry experience are also welcome to apply, where they are available to work from Oman.

    Role Summary

    As interconnect billing manager working on site with our client, you will be expected to represent our company and deliver consultancy-level expertise in interconnect billing operations. In this role, you will be responsible for providing the management function for our client’s interconnect billing department. This role will include setting-up and management of the systems, processes, activities and team that are required to deliver the interconnect billing service level targets. You will be essential for liaising with our client’s interconnect partners where required, and representing the interconnect billing team at meetings scheduled by our client.

    In this role your responsibilities include:

    • Representing our company for delivering the service level targets and statement of work ordered by our client.
    • Becoming proficient in using our software with support from our training and support teams.
    • Setting up the new interconnect billing workstream, processes and supporting documentation.
    • Month-end operations for invoicing and settlement of our client’s wholesale telecoms traffic.
    • Revenue assurance process and operations.
    • Ensuring compliance with regulatory and legal obligations for wholesale interconnect services.
    • Meeting the service level targets for billing, settlement, financial and management reporting.
    • Delivery of the financial reporting requirements including ERP system deliverables.
    • Delivery of the required management reporting (interconnect data) as requested by our client.
    • Liaising with our clients interconnect and national roaming partners for interconnect billing related activities.
    • Representing the interconnect billing department at meetings scheduled by our client.
    • Representing our company for gathering change requests or client issues relating to the interconnect billing statement of work.

    The person we are looking for:


    Required skillset:

    • 5 years+ experience in a similar interconnect management role.
    • Ability to demonstrate advanced knowledge in wholesale telecoms charging scenarios for example: domestic interconnect, fixed and mobile voice, messaging traffic (P2P, A2P, M2M), transit traffic, origination traffic, international interconnect, domestic and international roaming.
    • Ability to demonstrate advanced expertise in using an interconnect billing system and Microsoft office tools.
    • Experience of dealing with interconnect partners including dispute management.
    • Experience in working in a cross functional team for delivering new projects.
    • Excellent written and spoken communication skills – fluency in English is essential.
    • Must be highly organized and detail-oriented, with strong analytical, and problem-solving skills.
    • Able to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
    • Display excellent interpersonal skills as well as the ability to effectively present information.
    • Can demonstrate ability to work in an international environment across cultures.
    • Bachelor’s (or graduate level) degree.

    Desirable Background and Skills:

    • Previous experience in setting up a new team and defining processes.
    • Previous people management experience is desirable.
    • Experience working in the Oman market.
    • Experience in routing optimisation, roaming and wholesale fraud management.
