New starters at i-conX
i-conX Solutions, the world’s fastest growing interconnect vendor, has increased its support, development, product and mediation capability with six new appointments at its group HQ in Dublin, Ireland.
Mediation Specialist Micheál O’Dwyer; Software Engineers Martin Corley and Adrian Cahill; Head of Routing Optimisation Robin Booth; Product Manager Nigel Camp and Junior Interconnect Analyst Gael Quinio have all joined in the last quarter, expanding i-conX’s expert resource to a 30-strong team.
“With 15 new contract wins since 2006, i-conX is now accelerating its ongoing programme of staff expansion,” said i-conX Vice President Sales and Marketing, Gavin Stewart. “These latest appointments significantly advance our domain expertise in key areas such as routing optimisation and mediation, as well as assuring our commitment to delivery following the recent dramatic expansion of the i-conX customer base.”
Micheál has 13 years experience in the telecoms market, specialising in the implementation and management of mediation systems. Prior to joining i-conX he worked as a Mediation Specialist at one of Ireland’s top three mobile operators, Meteor, and held earlier positions with Ocean and EDS. In his role at i-conX, Micheál performs crucial analysis of event and call data records to identify the most appropriate processes for importing the data.
Robin Booth and Nigel Camp have both joined the i-conX team from rival service provider, Subex Azure, bringing specific expertise in Least Cost Routing (LCR) and Routing Optimisation (RO). They have long been industry affiliated and in their most recent roles at Subex, Robin served in a consultancy capacity whilst Nigel created the product road-map for the company’s existing RO line.
During his 35 years in the telecommunications and IT industries, Robin has held various roles with British Telecom and was employed as Director of Operations at Esprit before founding his own company, Telegnosis, in 1997. Here he developed the first commercial LCR system and then went on to establish the RO model while working on behalf of Monnet. Nigel has worked within telecoms for ten years and has managed and implemented software applications throughout Europe, the U.S. and Asia representing Monnet and Interoute.
Specialist software engineers Martin Corley and Adrian Cahill both hold a raft of qualifications and relevant industry experience. Martin has a Masters degree and previously worked with Microsoft; while Adrian spent five years researching the streaming of multimedia content over IP networks as part of his PhD and for three years applied his engineering expertise on behalf of Irish digital advertising solutions provider, Emuse Technologies.
Gael Quinio joins the team as Junior Interconnect Analyst from British Telecom. As a fluent speaker in French, English and Russian he is responsible for managing the support function for a number of international customers subscribing to i-conX’s fully and partially managed (a-s-p) services.
The series of new appointments follows recent contract wins with Tele2 Russia, KPN Group Belgium, Newroz in Iraq and Paltel in Palestine. As a specialist interconnect services provider, i-conX facilitates this complex form of account settlement between telcos on behalf of 21 customers across Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Russia.
