New Product Development
Customers will soon be able to benefit from a powerful & newly-developed solution which, through the efficient delivery of real-time information, will support daily operations & boost business decision-making : i-conX Reporting Services.
This comprehensive, server-based solution enables the creation, management, and delivery of both traditional static reports and interactive, web-based reports.
Built on Microsoft SQL Server 2005 and MS Windows Server 2003 technologies, Reporting Services also exploits the power of popular end-user tools such as MS Office and Adobe Acrobat to deliver its information - and accessing it is as simple as clicking on a link from within the i-conX application.
On-Demand Reports
The user can run reports interactively, with up-to-the-minute data on view; furthermore, as the server caches copies of frequently run reports, multiple users don't have to endure any delay waiting for the same report to run - especially useful on long-running reports. The interactivity element also allows users to drilldown into more detail on a specific record - for instance, in a summary report, by clicking on a ‘total' you can open / close a detail record view as well.
Once executed, report data can be exported in a variety of formats including PDF, Excel & XML. Snapshots of a report can also be stored on the server for review / comparison purposes.
Scheduled Reports
You can schedule any report for execution at any future date and time, to suit your needs. The schedule can be as simplistic (e.g. 1st day of each month) or as complex (e.g. 2nd Thursday of March, June, September & November) as you wish. The control is yours. You can also streamline things by configuring multiple reports to run off a single shared schedule.
Scheduled reports, which are delivered via email, can contain report data in a wide variety of formats such as HTML, PDF or Excel file formats.
Report Builder
We wanted to give users the facility to create their own reports. In the real world, not all users possess the deep technical expertise to do this!
To overcome this, our Report Builder application helps you create your own reports based on pre-defined models that simplify access to the i-conX database. A graphical design tool (similar to the one in MS Access) provides a simple and user-friendly on-screen interface.
You can create Table (columnar) reports, Matrix (cross-tab) reports & a variety of charts. Once again, this type of Report may also be saved to the Reporting Services server and scheduled.
My Reports
Each user has their own private folder for creating and running their own reports. Items within these folders can also be moved from private to public status in case a user wishes to share publication with colleagues.
Enhanced Excel Export Functionality
Arguably the world's most popular spreadsheet application, MS Excel works harmoniously with i-conX Reporting Services to give finance professionals speed, insight and clarity in viewing their interconnect business.
Crucially, we have embedded drilldown functionality into the solution. What this means, is that if a drilldown-enabled report is exported from Reporting Services across to Excel, the report will still maintain all its drill-down functionality even when viewed in Excel.
Now, you can inspect and hide different levels of detail with a single mouse click. In practice, you simply click the outline symbols to quickly display only the rows or columns that provide summaries or headings for sections of your worksheet, or you can use the symbols to see details under an individual summary or heading.
A report exported from Reporting Services can group data by currency and then by carrier. Using simple Excel outline controls on the left-side of the application, the data can be expanded or collapsed to show the required level of detail.
