i-conX CEO Martin Browne is to address the prestigious CTO Forum 2006, the bi-annual gathering of Commonwealth operators from Europe, Africa, AsiaPac and the Caribbean (4th-6th September, London).

This year the Forum considers the topic “Harnessing the potential of mobile communications”, and has attracted high-level commercial participation from Nokia, Vodafone, Ericsson and C&W as well as i-conX.

Martin will address the CTO on day 2, when his subject will be“Overcoming the challenges of interconnection and payment: Clearing a path through interconnect”.

Martin’s address will focus on the crucial relationship between worldwide market liberalisation and the question of how new and existing operators can interconnect effectively with each other.

Also on the podium at the CTO Forum will be DTI Minister Margaret Hodge, OFCOM Strategic Director Peter Bury, and Rob Conway, CEO of the GSM Association.

A further highlight is a vast array of speaker presentations from ministers and regulators from as far afield as Malaysia, Uganda, Sri Lanka, Ghana, Barbados, Kenya and Pakistan.

Speaking for i-conX VP Marketing GAVIN STEWART commented, “As a company i-conX is delighted to be involved with such a prestigious gathering of worldwide telecoms policy makers”.

“This opportunity cements our placing – and Martin Browne in particular – at the cutting edge of thought for interconnection and market liberalistation issues”.

Founded in 1901, The Commonwealth Telecommunications Organisation (CTO) was created as an international development partnership between Commonwealth and non-Commonwealth governments, business and civil society organisations.
