Telcos from across the world received a rare insight into the world of the implementation specialist, when i-conX Senior Analyst VINCENT COESSENS addressed the IIR Conference “Interconnection 2008”, Amsterdam 28th-31st January.

Sponsored by i-conX , the conference is the premier annual event for interconnect billing professionals to meet, discuss and share industry developments and trends.

Vincent joined i-conX in 2006, since when he has headed a wide range of on-site implementation projects in Africa, the Middle East and Europe. His presentation was entitled “Mastering Interconnect Implementations : Determining Why They Fail and How to Ensure Success”.

“Buying an interconnect billing system is a major process for any telco”, comments Vincent, “but the true job only begins after the sale is completed”.

“Above all, every implementation is a unique affair, and the requirements and configurations are never the same twice”, continues Vincent. “Gaining an understanding of the common project goals sets the scene for co-operation and a positive outcome”.

This year the conference delivered long-awaited answers to enduring questions on the subject of NGN billing. A number of likely models was discussed, as a result of operator presentations, and stimulating panel debate.

Martin Browne chaired the conference, and i-conX VP Marketing Gavin Stewart and Customer Relationship Manager Michelle Dervan performed demonstrations of the i-conX system.
