Cape Town workshop sell-out
A packed gathering of Africa’s foremost revenue assurance and billing specialists gathered to participate in the latest in i-conX President & CEO Martin Browne’s global workshop programme for 2008-09.
Hosted in Cape Town, South Africa, the September 2008 workshop attracted a record 45 participants to hear Martin explain, across two separate sessions, how new developments in Interconnect Billing can best be exploited for both emerging and established carriers.
The sessions addressed some of the most important new developments likely to impact on the wholesale telco business, including a valuable insight into probable models for billing new IP services.
Martin also focused on the issues of identifying and counteracting interconnect fraud – perhaps better referred to as “traffic misrepresentation” – by other operators.
The workshops continued by reviewing the major interconnect issues old and new, ranging across transit traffic, alternative settlement and accounting methods, VoIP and other emerging industry trends such as Quad Play and FMC.
This latest i-conX workshop was a key component in this year’s IIR conference, “Revenue Assurance Africa 2008”, at which Martin Browne also gave a speaker presentation on the second day.
Also attending this event were VP Sales & Marketing Gavin Stewart, Senior Interconnect Analyst Vincent Coessens and VP Business Development Philip Joubert, who conducted demonstrations of the latest i-conX v8 software solution.
i-conX’s sponsorship of this key event follows similar participation in 2007 and is evidence of its rapidly developing footprint in global emerging markets such as Africa.
