i-conX 'subsidiaries'

One of the most interesting areas of i-conX functionality concerns “Subsidiaries”, an area which adds significant value for telcos that already run, or are thinking about launching, other legal entities under their corporate umbrella.

The i-conX system is set up so that, if it wishes, a telco can manage the interconnect operations of all its legal entities from a central base, conferring huge potential efficiencies in terms of people and hardware resource.

For instance, a Telco may have both fixed and mobile operations – sometimes with completely different brand names – and cross-accounting can take place between both. Totals could be published to an external financial system with full separation preserved. Or, following a merger, the telco may assume control of a completely new traffic set but still wish to retain separation in the reporting.

In truth this is an exceptionally useful area of the system, as it can provide an engine for important areas such as retail rate and margin analysis and least cost routing, as well as the standard business reports which allow corporations to monitor and manage the performance of their entities.

With live interconnect information populating the i-conX report builder, distant country operations will seem a little closer than before.
